Congress Co-Chairs

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted that you could join us here in Delhi for the 15th Asian & Oceanian Epilepsy Congress (AOEC) and have no doubt that you will ­find this congress to be a truly rewarding experience.

Our colleagues from the Scienti­fic Organising Committee have produced an excellent scientifi­c programme and with input from the ILAE chapters across the region the highest educational quality is guaranteed. The theme of this congress is “Expanding Horizons in Epilepsy Care” and so the congress opens with the Chair’s Symposium on “Inflammation, epileptogenesis and epilepsy” on Thursday at 13:00, and then the main sessions this year focus on “IGAP in the Asian-Oceanian region”, “Epilepsy care in the digital age” and “Epileptic networks and seizure propagation”. A careful blend of didactic and practical sessions ensure that all recent scienti­fic, clinical and social developments in epilepsy are comprehensively covered.

Make sure to attend the platform sessions and visit the poster area to hear and read about the latest research and data on epilepsy from throughout the region. The two best platform presentations and two best posters will receive the Tadokoro Award on Sunday in the Closing Ceremony.

We look forward to welcoming you to this vibrant city of Delhi famed for its’ rich history, iconic monuments, diverse culture, and celebrated food scene, over the next few days. Please join us on Thursday in the Sapphire Hall at 18:00 for the Opening Ceremony where we acknowledge the tremendous work of our colleagues in the region through the AOEA Awards and the Golden Light Awards.
