Symposium on Advances
in Epilepsy Syndromes

The CAAE/ASEPA Epilepsy workshop entitled āSymposium on Advances in Epilepsy Syndromesā took place in Zunyi, Guizhou, China. The faculty consisted of Prof Liao Weiping, Prof John Dunne, Prof Tan Chong Tin, Prof Kwan Shang Yeong, Prof Chen Chien, A/Prof Derrick Chan, Prof Liu Xiaorong and Dr He Na. All provided stimulating talks on the entire range of epilepsy syndromes and the most updated classifications, and the local hosts led by Prof Xu engaged in stimulating and deep discussions, culminating in excellent case presentations.

ASEPA SEEG Workshop
and DIXI SEEG Course

The Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) and the Epilepsy Society of Thailand (EST) jointly organized two-day SEEG Workshop focused on SEEG techniques and case discussions with experts in the field, particularly emphasizing temporal and insulo-perisylvian epilepsy. The program featured comprehensive lectures and case studies covering SEEG mastery, cortical anatomy, stereotaxy, electrode implantation, and surgical planning. Additionally, participants received hands-on training with SEEG trajectory software. The event had 80 participants from 14 countries.

Advanced Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Course 2024

Bangkok, Thailand
The first ILAE AO course on Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery ā From basics to advancements ā was conducted at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin, Kerla, India. Apart from Didactic lectures, the course included a series of sessions with interactive case discussions on presurgical planning and outcomes along with debates on the futuristic aspects. A total of 120 students attended the program from all the major Asian countries like India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Maldives. Students from other regions like Kenya, Russia and Iran also attended the program. The scientific content and the format of the program were well appreciated the excellent feedback was received from all the delegates

ASEPA Neuropsychology Course
in Epilepsy 2024
14 – 15 December 2024 | Taipei City, Taiwan
The course is specifically designed for clinical psychologist and other health professions in the Asian-Oceanic Area to advance the knowledge of neuropsychological approaches in the health care pathway of individuals with epilepsy. There were interactive case discussions to illustrate principles of neurocognitive evaluation and case planning.
